Blood Glucose Control Experiment

Diabetes is a growing problem in India[1]. A 2023 scientific study estimated that India had 101 million people with diabetes and 136 million with prediabetes as of 2021.[2]

In Type 2 diabetics, sustained and elevated levels of glucose in the bloodstream have been shown to be responsible for damage to a variety of organs.[3] These elevations typically occur in the wake of meals.

Studies have shown that exercise immediately after a meal reduces peak glucose levels in the bloodstream because muscle cells absorb the glucose molecules. [4]

This is an experiment to see if hypnosis can prompt the muscle cells to absorb glucose cells by instructing a patient to relive the experience of having just completed a vigorous workout session whenever he or she concludes a meal. If this experiment is successful, it would suggest that, for a type 2 diabetic, there might be another way to reduce the amount of sugar in the bloodstream and avoid the damage that it causes.
